The Position
Looking to step up or simply just looking for a change? A great opportunity exists within Council’s Water and Sewer team for a person with an interest in both water and sewer services. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate skills and qualifications to work in conjunction with the Water Supervisor to motivate and lead work teams to complete sewer works programs and maintain sewer assets to meet regulatory standards in accordance with Council's maintenance and operational plans.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
- Comprehensive experience within Sewerage Management
- Sewerage Treatment Plant Operator Certificate Level 2 (or equivalent)
- Driving Licence Class C (Car)
- Traffic Control (Blue Card)
- Excavator Operator Certificate of Competence
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate
- Fluoridation Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Construction Certificate (White Card)
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated well developed oral and written communication skills
- Leadership and Supervisory experience
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team of employees
- Committed to the principles and a practical knowledge of WHS
- Sound computer skills and knowledge of Radio telemetry.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and disseminate details to staff
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of Pipeline Construction skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Knowledge of mechanical plant and equipment associated with water supply and sewerage schemes
- Be available for “on-call” duties when rostered

Salary Details
$32.78 p/h + Super – 76 hours over a nine day fortnight
