Water and Sewer Engineer

The Position
Working within the Water and Sewer department to effectively assist in the coordination and delivery of day to day operations and planning and capital works programs. You will provide technical support to ensure engineering works are carried out to required specification, within required timeframes and within allocated budgets. As part of your role you will assist staff and the general public with enquiries..
Selection Criteria
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate engineering field sufficient to gain membership to the Institute of Engineers Australia
Essential
- Knowledge of engineering principles applicable to the water and waste industry, and best practice management guidelines
- Ability to rapidly learn the range and depth of work to be undertaken as described in the position description key responsibilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated time and project management skills
- Comprehensive coordination, problem solving, teamwork and liaison skills
- Highly motivated and self disciplined together with excellent analytical skills
- Strong Customer service focus
- Sound computing skills
- Sound knowledge of WH&S principles
- Current valid Class C Driver’s Licence – ongoing employment is conditional on maintaining this Licence
Desirable
- Previous experience in water and waste industry
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant Laws, Acts and Standards
- Contract management skills
- First Aid Certificate
Salary Details:
Grade 12 $45.86 p/h + Super - 70 hours per fortnight - A Leaseback vehicle is attached to this position
