Sydney Water is a world leader in an industry that is as essential to our community as the water it delivers.

We are currently seeking a Security & Network Services Specialist to deliver and operate security and network services on a day to day basis to ensure effective and efficient technology delivery, using service frameworks, architectures and solutions supporting the IT Strategic Plan and Sydney Water customers.

In this role you will:

• Deliver, operate and implement security and network services across all sites ensuring service levels, availability, capacity and resilience

• Collaborate with all IT teams and relevant frameworks to provide information on security services supporting, delivery, development and continuous improvement of future foundation services.

• Work with external service providers to operate and implement the day to day maintenance and monitoring of all security and network systems and services, informing the functional lead of any risks, issues and performance impacts.

• Collate and deliver information to monitor and maintain security and network services reports and processes.

To be successful you will have a tertiary degree qualification in IT, computer science or similar or equivalent industry experience and a minimum 5 years’ experience in IT and a minimum 3 years’ experience in delivery, implementation and operation of security and network services.

Working as part of a team in a changing and challenging environment, you will have the following experience:

• Demonstrated ability to operate and implement technologies across a number of geographical locations.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in operating and maintaining security and networking services and technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, flexibility, team focus and dedication to customer service
• Ability to communicate complex technical problems effectively in a clear and concise way in language and concepts customers can understand
• Ability to problem solve difficult issues to arrive at a technical solution that meets the business needs
