What will you do?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Flooding & Hydrology engineer to join our NSW Surface Water Team in Sydney/Newcastle.

This will be a start of exploring more growth with a world-class company and various types and scales of projects within but not limited to NSW and ACT.

  • Tackle the delivery of flood assessment on major Transport/Land/Water infrastructure/Dams projects across NSW/ACT.
  • Collaborate across disciplines internally and externally with clients and public authorities to address technical queries and drive an optimum engineering solution.
  • As a Flooding & Hydrology engineer in the Sydney/Newcastle team and NSW Water Practice, you will join as a key member that adds to the diversity of thought, skills, and experience of the group.

The role

Due to recent project wins in the Water Resources, Transport and Advisory Markets we are growing our team. In this position, you will play an integral part in an ANZ team of highly skilled flooding specialist that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients.

In this role, you will conduct hydrological and hydraulic investigations and design for a wide range of projects through collaboration with other hydrology and hydraulic teams, drainage teams, Dams teams and water resources advisory teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor or Masters’ level degree in civil or environmental engineering and tertiary qualification
  • Have 2-5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency in TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM, and XP-RAFTS required
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate information and modelling results
  • Strong understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2019
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external client-facing level
  • Have an interest in technological advances and applying innovation
