Senior Water Strategy Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Water Strategy Officer to join our Regional Sustainable Development unit. This newly created role will provide advocacy, technical advice and capacity building to assist the City on a range of water related issues including establishing a strategic water management framework and implementation of Water Sensitive Urban Design projects.

You will play a key role in and participate in local and regional water projects including the supporting City identified projects from the outcomes of the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities projects and involvement in Integrated Water Management Planning in the region. You will analyse the City’s water use data, research options and seek funding to support sustainable water management and build climate change resilience. You will be responsible for delivering the City’s integrated water management planning to support water efficiency projects, stormwater and recycled water projects, and contribution to the management of waterway and biodiversity health.

To succeed in this role you will have an understanding of integrated water management principals and demonstrated ability to deliver projects to agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards. Outstanding interpersonal skills are essential to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and produce high quality reports.
