Stormwater Projects Officer

A two (2) year, part-time position (0.5 FTE) is currently available within Council’s Stormwater Unit, which has a strong focus on the integration of water quantity and water quality aspects of stormwater infrastructure solutions.

The Stormwater Unit undertakes integrated water management services, ranging from flood mitigation and modelling, to integrated water cycle management, stormwater harvesting and water sensitive urban design. 

This position will be responsible for delivering on the final stages of water quality capital works within the Dobsons Creek Catchment (The Basin); and will conduct a full evaluation of this four (4) year partnership pilot project with Melbourne Water, the University of Melbourne and South East Water.

The duties of the position include the following:
1. Provide excellent service to all external and internal customers in the delivery of the Dobsons Creek Catchment partnership project;
2. Ability to investigate, research and understand stormwater management in the context of urban systems, and make appropriate recommendations to the Coordinator, Stormwater and project partners;
3. Undertake site assessments, catchment analyses, M.U.S.I.C. modelling and prepare functional (concept) designs, cost estimates and required contract documentation to enable construction;
4. Ensure design works are technically sound, practical and within standards required by Knox City Council.
5. Evaluate and document the overall project, including an assessment of cost-benefits, ecological benefits, community engagement, the partnership model, and added values and outcomes, with recommendations.

A salary range of $76,250 to 83,276 p.a. is being offered depending on experience.
