Senior Engineer Planning

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer Planning to join our Water & Waste Infrastructure Team. 

 

Primary Objectives of the position: 

To be responsible for, under the direction of the Principal Engineer - Strategy, Planning & Assets, the strategic direction for the upgrade of existing infrastructure as well as new infrastructure to meet existing and future levels of service for water, recycled water and wastewater. 

This includes planning safe and reliable drinking water sources, planning efficient water supply and sewerage systems and providing services for internal customers, including input into the Capital Works Program, Council's Local Government Infrastructure Plan and relevant Asset Management Plans. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, or other relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum five years of experience in infrastructure network planning relevant to the Australian water industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills within a utility organisation, including high level skills in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, process improvement and asset performance. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and utilising hydraulic network modelling tools to analyse infrastructure performance and improve system efficiencies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic infrastructure plans, incorporating appropriate asset management strategies, to support adopted service delivery targets. 
  • Well-developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write technical reports. 
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, guidelines and industry best practice.
