Program Manager Demand Management

We are currently seeking a Program Manager Demand Management (Fixed Term to 30 June 2018) to join our Water & Waste Department.

 

Primary Objectives of the position:

The Program Manager Demand Management has the primary objective to deliver assigned elements of the Cairns Water Security Strategy (CWSS) and associated Demand Management Strategy (DMS).

The position will be responsible for leading a project team of specialists delivering a range of broad and targeted demand management initiatives. These initiatives, in conjunction with a separate program of supply augmentations will ensure that the Cairns region has sufficient water for the future. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree, or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Recent and significant experience in the Australian water industry, focused on water resources management and engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small multidisciplinary team focused on achieving an assigned goal.
  • Practical / applied knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics and water resource management frameworks and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative in sourcing information and making decisions required to progress assigned tasks. 
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to a range of target audiences.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to build, maintain and improve relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability using effective negotiation skills when dealing with clients.
