Continued growth in the New Zealand water resources sector, has resulted in this opportunity for a Senior Coastal Engineer to join our Wellington based team. You will be involved in hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation schemes and flood risk management, and rivers and coastal engineering. You will help deliver services to a wide range of clients, including government agencies, local government, major energy companies, developers and private clients. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of river/coastal related engineering (at least 5 years);
• Experience of hydraulic structure engineering;
• River and coastal hydraulic modelling experience;
• Experience of flood alleviation scheme development and design;
• A degree in Civil Engineering;
• A Registered/Chartered Engineer (or in the process of becoming);
• The ability to bid and deliver projects with minimal supervision;
• Good commercial acumen; and
• A people oriented approach.

The successful candidate will be well known and respected within their professional community, have well-developed commercial and communication skills, be highly motivated, and able to develop and maintain good staff and client relationships.   The position will suit those with a high level of experience in project management in one or more of the following areas: hydraulic modelling of rivers and/or for urban drainage (wastewater and stormwater), river engineering and management of works contracts.
