The Position
CSIRO Agriculture & Food is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellow to work alongside existing staff aiming to improve farm level prediction of plant available water capacity. Through this important work, you will contribute to improving resource use efficiency, informing yield forecasts and helping to close the yield gap in dryland agriculture. You will undertake research to quantify soil and crop effects on crop root water extraction. You will use the results to inform new and exciting robust approaches to both measurement and prediction of the crop lower limit and plant available water capacity.
Postdoctoral Fellows work closely with a leading Research Scientist or Engineer in their respective field. They carry out innovative, impactful research of strategic importance to CSIRO with the possibility of novel and important scientific outcomes. They present the findings in appropriate publications and at conferences.

Salary: $80k to $91k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
