SENIOR WATER OPERATOR

We are looking for a Senior Water Operator with solid experience and a practical pair of hands to lead our City’s water and wastewater operations.

This is an interesting time to be part of this sector, with issues such as climate change, growing demand, ageing infrastructure all contributing to the already complex challenges we face, this opportunity is for those looking for a lifestyle change or a chance to move back home to one of NZs best regions – the Hawkes Bay.  You will know that here in Hawke’s Bay we experienced an unprecedented situation in August 2016, which has resulted in a significant number of deliverables over the next two years.  We need your help to achieve this.

The successful candidate will have

  • Experience in managing the day to day delivery of water and waste water supply operations 

  • Is experienced in providing technical and operational assistance for other water services activities (wastewater and storm water)

  •  Experience in managing a small team (preferable)
  • Speaks FACe and worries about BOD.

  • Commitment to ongoing personal development in water treatment methods, principles and practices

  • The ability to coach others in the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the operation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of water treatment facilities

  • A cool and collected manner when working under pressure

  • Public sector experience desirable

  • An innovative and proactive approach to solving problems
