Project Engineer (Water Infrastructure Delivery)

About the Opportunity

With a strong pipeline of projects and growth we are now expanding our team and are looking to appoint a Project Engineer specialising in water infrastructure. 

As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for providing planning, technical advice and management of project activities to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract requirements and within the nominated constraints for time, cost, quality, safety and the environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the project scope and assist the Project Manager with the preparation of time and cost effective construction methodologies.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in the organisation of labour and equipment.
  • Procure materials and services from our approved suppliers, or attain approval for a new supplier, as per company procedure.
  • Assist the Project Manager to monitor the coordination of site activities by the Site Supervisor.
  • Assist the Project Manager to ensure that the construction program is adhered to and updated weekly.
  • Assist the Project Manager to review and approve subcontract and supplier invoices and claims.
  • Ensure that all construction works comply with the plans and specifications.
  • Attend site inspections and assist the Project Manager to prepare estimates and submissions for works under the contract.
  • Ensure that all construction works comply with the plans and specifications.

To be successful you will demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified as a Civil Engineer or equivalent
  • Experience delivering water and or sewer projects
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Strong leadership ability
  • A genuine commitment to strong WH&S culture and values

The role sits in the Construction Division of Calibre Group in our Diona business. Diona specialises in the delivery of utility services and infrastructure across Australia, Diona has more than 30 years' experience working closely with utility providers, councils and government departments.
