The Opportunity

Our Finance and Strategy Group is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter with a strong understanding of finance systems and applications, great attention to detail and the ability to think analytically to be our next ongoing, full-time Financial Accountant.

You will be responsible for general financial accounting responsibilities, including bank and general ledger reconciliations, month-end and external reporting.

A day in the life…

There is never a dull moment at Icon Water. Working collaboratively with a high achieving team and using your expertise and knowledge, you will:

  • Assist with preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepare monthly journals, complete the bank reconciliation and assist with the month-end close process.
  • Use your problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify and help drive process improvements
  • Use your curiosity to investigate identified variances in general ledger accounts and help get it right at source.
  • Keep on top of changes to the Australian Accounting Standards and apply your understanding to the annual financial report process.
  • Be an integral part of the Financial Accounting team and helping to embed changes in processes and shaping our organisation for the future.

You are:

  • Ideally working in business or financial services and looking to make your move into a commercial role or currently working in a similar position.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Capable of working independently and have excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Able to build and champion positive relationships and enjoy providing high-level technical accounting advice and support.
  • Must have a tertiary qualification in accounting or similar.
  • Member of CPA or CAANZ or progressing towards.
  • Experience in Microsoft applications and finance systems.
  • Sound understanding and application of financial accounting principles.
