Land Use Planning Adviser 

WaterNSW is Australia’s biggest water supplier, responsible for 42 dams operating across NSW. WaterNSW is a centre of excellence for water delivery and catchment protection delivering water to a diverse customer base. We identify, build and operate water infrastructure solutions.

Currently, WaterNSW is looking for an experienced Land Use Planning Adviser based at Penrith (moving to Parramatta 2017).

About the position…

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and dedicated team. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivery of identified land use planning elements under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act. You will also be required in this role to assess applications for development impacting water supply infrastructure.

About you…

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Degree in town, regional, urban or environmental planning; environmental management/ science; geography or natural resources.
  • Extensive experience in environmental or urban and regional planning.
  • Experience in the preparation and interpretation of environmental planning instruments, strategic plans, policies and planning tools to guide future development in a manner consistent with the protection of environmental values.
  • Experience in methodologies for the strategic environmental assessment of land or catchments (including GIS dependent methods).

Remuneration & benefits
