What we are looking for:? 

  • A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business 
  • Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
  • A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value? 
  • Open to all experience levels including labouring, fencing, vegetation management or equivalent.
  • Be a great communicator and teammate
  • Genuinely passionate about technology and driven to build a career in IT
  • Be reasonably proficient in all thing’s technology (computers/telephones/software packages), experience with Microsoft Office would be highly regarded!
  • Be a planner, able to prioritise and work through your tasks methodically
  • Have a natural attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and customer service skills
  • Be committed to your formal and ‘on the job’ training for 24 months
  • Have a can-do attitude and be an enthusiastic learner

What you will work on: 

You will complete a Certificate IV in Information Technology over 24 months through a combination of formal training and on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Water NSW (via HVTC).

This unique combination of formal education and work experience will give you the opportunity to work in a range of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) roles, which may include -

  • Answering phone calls working on incidents, requests
  • Troubleshooting, Analysis, problem solving IT issues
  • Imaging laptops / desktops
  • Support walkup user enquiries.
  • Manage, Supply and Decommission hardware devices such as laptops, phones, monitors and other accessories

When people think of essential human services, water supply is one of the first things that come to mind - and that’s where WaterNSW comes in. We are NSW’s primary bulk water supplier, river operator and comprehensive provider for licensing, water trades and water information.
