Murray Irrigation is located in the Riverina just north of the Murray River and manages one of the largest irrigation schemes in Australia covering almost 750,000 hectares. Head office is in Deniliquin. The area of operation stretches from Mulwala in the east to Moulamein in the west. The company is focused on outcomes achieved through a triple bottom line approach.

The Commonwealth Government has provided funding, as part of the Private Irrigators Infrastructure Operators Program (PIIOP), for Murray Irrigation to deliver a $200M project to upgrade existing irrigation infrastructure, and incorporate new technology for water ordering, system monitoring and control. Over the next two to three years, the project will include metering, automation, distribution reconfiguration and asset conversion.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will deliver technical support to the project and lead field personnel in its successful delivery. You will provide critical support to the design team with construction advice, dealing with tenders and the management of contractors for civil and mechanical works. You will also ensure compliance with safety programs, cost and quality standards including the preparation of achievable schedules. You will monitor and report activity against schedules, costs, quality and resources.

Degree qualified in Engineering (civil or mechanical or equivalent), we expect you will have five to 10 years exposure to large infrastructure works and schedules. You will require sound communication skills and proficiency with databases and systems. A working knowledge of Primavera (or equivalent) would be highly regarded.
