About the role

The Water and Sewer Branch is currently seeking an enthusiastic applicant for the role of Sewer Headworks Supervisor. The primary purpose of this position is to lead and participates in a team that undertakes the operation, inspection, maintenance and renewal works associated with the sewage treatment infrastructure. Ensures the treatment process, activities and final effluent comply with regulatory licence conditions and all the associated facilities are operated and maintained efficiently and in a safe manner.

About you

In addition to relevant experience within the water and sewer treatment industry and a recognised Certification IV qualification in Water and Sewer Industry Operations, the successful applicant will be an accountable team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

More specifically, responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving best operating practices for all sewage treatment plants and applicable pumping stations.
  • Supervising the regulatory sampling analysis program
  • Leading and monitoring staff development and skills and a positive involvement in staff selection, performance and development.
  • Coordinating Work, Health and Safety audits, site inductions and associated risk workshops are conducted within required timeframes.
  • Monitoring operational and capital budgets for all sewage treatment areas as directed by the Sewer Coordinator
