The role

Our local business is continuing to evolve and as part of our planned growth strategy, GHD is seeking an experienced Lead Water/Civil Drafter to join our Adelaide based team.

This key role will be a blend of technical and internal client facing activities and would suit if you are passionate about working side by side with your clients as a trusted advisor, in South Australia and across Australia. As a key member of our team you will be accountable for the efficient and effective provision of professional engineering services to our public and private sector clients.

You will make your mark by:

  • Undertaking drafting for a variety of water related projects including water and wastewater pipelines and pump stations; water storage; and treatment plant projects across options, concept and detailed design phases 
  • Building strong relationships through outstanding internal client engagement and interaction with other GHD offices
  • Managing workload of team members across offices
  • Delivering projects in line with the commercial and quality expectations of our clients and GHD 

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Significant experience in the civil drafting of water infrastructure projects
  • Design drafting experience in water and wastewater infrastructure comprising process; mechanical and civil disciplines are preferred
  • High level proficiency with a wide range of 12D and CAD software, eg. AutoCad, Plant 3D
  • Maintained CAD standards and procedures and co-ordinated CAD systems and related software use
  • Previous experience in delivering a range of projects on time and within budget
  • The ability to prioritise and work effectively across multiple projects and offices
  • Proven experience in leading a high performing team
  • Sound written communication skills with the ability to prepare a range of business documentation to a high standard
  • Effective influencing skills and proven success in negotiating positive outcomes
  • A strong commitment to safety as a non-negotiable priority for you and the team
  • A TAFE qualification or similar, with related practical experience
