The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and qualified Hydrogeologist to fill a fixed term full-time position until 30 June 2021 in the Water Resource Assessment branch.

The primary function of this position is to provide technical hydrogeological support to the State Groundwater Investigation Program (SGIP), which seeks to better understand priority groundwater resources to inform planning and management. These investigations mix traditional hydrogeological methods with the latest technologies in both field data collection and model development to improve our hydrogeological understanding.

Duties include but are not limited to: carrying out groundwater investigations and assessment, investigating cause and effect relationships in difficult problems, coordinating and instructing support staff, and assisting in development and documentation of procedures for groundwater investigation and assessments.

TERM OF APPOINTMENT

The initial term of appointment for this position is until 30 June 2021. Extensions to this term may be possible, dependent on funding availability and resourcing requirements.
