Water Regulation and Compliance Analyst - Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal - WaterCareer

We are located in the Sydney CBD, close to Central Station.
 
This role sits within the Water Regulation and Compliance team. This team holds NSW public and private water utilities accountable with their licence and regulatory obligations by applying a risk-based compliance and enforcement framework. Our focus is to ensure water utilities protect public health, manage assets, provide appropriate services and protect customers and consumers. Additionally, we undertake assessments of private water scheme licences under the Water Industry Competition Act 2006 and review public water licences. 
 
About the role
As an Analyst within Regulation and Compliance, you will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Assess licence applications for private water schemes
  • Undertake analysis and compliance assessments
  • Contribute and draft concise, accurate, timely and understandable briefs, correspondence, discussion papers and reports to present to the Tribunal for decision
  • Assist with audits of public and private water utilities and assess audit reports to determine the water utilities’ compliance with licence conditions and regulatory obligations
  • Collaborate with management and technical staff in our Water Regulation and Compliance team
 
We seek candidates from a variety of backgrounds with qualifications and experience in engineering, science, economic, law or other relevant disciplines, who can apply technical, regulatory, economic and/or policy analysis to licence, pricing or industry reviews.
