 Solomon Water: Project Engineer / Manager

PROJECT ENGINEER/MANAGER (Water Supply and Wastewater)

The primary role of the position is to oversee the scoping, design and construction of water supply and wastewater infrastructure constructed under the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project (UWSSSP) or 30 year Strategic plan projects in the Solomon Islands (SI).

The person we are looking for must have an engineering qualification from an accredited college or university with a minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in design management, construction management, supervision and quality control of projects for construction of water supply and sewerage. The person must have prior experience in water and sewerage reticulation design and construction, electrical and mechanical installation in water and sewage facilities with some experience in the Pacific working on donor funded infrastructure projects. Knowledge of ADB or World Bank procurement and reporting procedures and small developing nation experience is desirable, as is registration as a Chartered or Registered Professional Engineer.  Fluent verbal and written English is essential.

The initial contract term is 24 months with the option to extend subject to performance.  The role is an ADB funded consultant one and will be subject to ADB procurement rules.
