About the role
Parramatta City Council is seeking to appoint a highly capable Senior Catchment and Development Engineer professional on a temporary basis for up to 12 months who is interested in working within a highly motivated Development and Assessment Service environment on a permanent fulltime basis.

As a Senior Catchment and Development Engineer specialising in flood management you would play a key role both individually and as a member of our dedicated team in the delivery of professional development assessment services, and for contributing to the on-going improvement of our services and the development of a culture that is focused on customer service and quality outcomes.

About you
The position that we have on offer is central to the success of our plans and as such, applicants will need to be able to provide advanced professional and specialist technical advice and guidance with extensive experience in the assessment of flood, catchment management and hydraulic focused aspects of engineering matters as they relate to development assessment.

You will also have strong capabilities and experience in the management of large and complex development applications within an urbanised/CBD environment, and the ability to operate effectively in a political environment.

  • A recognised degree in Civil Engineering
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Catchment and Hydraulic Engineering and be eligible to be a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia
  • Approximately 10 -15 years civil and water engineering experience of which at least 5 years’ experience has been as an Engineer in an organisation with similar diversity of commercial, industrial and community development as Parramatta City Council
  • Demonstrated skills in assessing catchment management and hydrological and hydraulic modelling software
  • Strong capabilities in the management and assessment of complex development applications
  • High level of oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Innovative with high-level customer service, project and process management skills.

What’s on offer?
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $120,384.74 to $132,568.74 (Includes salary + super). In addition to this, you will also receive a Civil Liability Allowance.
