Procurement Support Officer 

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information.  We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities.

WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Procurement Support Officer to provide quality procurement administrative support services in an organised, timely, reliable and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will perform all responsibilities in compliance with the WaterNSW procurement and contract management policies, frameworks, processes and procedures, which are consistent with the operating practices of WaterNSW, and put safety first.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain relationships with the business in order to understand procurement queries and provide a responsive and business-centric service;
  • Monitor and maintain internal and external Procurement mailboxes, actioning requests promptly;
  • Perform required supplier coordination and on-boarding activities to maintain an active supplier database;
  • Execute Procurement administration activities such as: creating and maintaining purchase orders and contracts
  • Manage a range of business and system support tasks and undertake improvements where agreed;
  • Provide general administrative support that may include arranging and reporting on workshops, training, team meetings, etc.;
  • Coordinate actions and assist with required Procurement reporting;
  • Assist and support with Procurement and broader team responsibilities.

Skills and Qualifications required: 

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, or relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Procurement, Business) or experience deemed equivalent;
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence;
  • Procurement, finance or administrative experience and sound organisational, relationship and time management skills;
  • Agility in your approach and a demonstrated ability to meet daily timelines;
  • Proven corporate business support experience; and
  • A Microsoft office power-user and be able to generate, dissect and simplify reports for practical business use.
