Your future in food starts here | Environmental Officer

We are looking for an Environmental Officer to join our team, located at our Kilcoy facility.

Location: Kilcoy

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Help develop and maintain Environmental Management systems to comply with current and future legislative requirements.
  • Monitor compliance to Environmental Management System requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records.
  • Monitor wastewater quality – collecting samples, performing laboratory/field tests, recording results, and investigating parameter variations and inconsistencies.
  • Maintain water testing instrumentation.
  • Monitor pond and dam levels – maintaining efficient movement of wastewater around the site, for irrigation, livestock, and recycling.
  • Assist farm operatives in coordination and implementation of irrigation management strategy.
  • Monitor levels of solid waste in waste streams – facilitating on zero waste to landfill.
  • Monitor and report air/odour emissions.
  • Supports the Cogeneration Operator with routine and preventative maintenance, inspections, and checking of operational parameters across the cogeneration or power systems, and anaerobic digestors.
  • Identify energy and other utility efficiency opportunities.

ABOUT YOU

  • Ability to identify issues and respond promptly with practical solutions
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence (LR Truck and/or Forklift licence an advantage)
  • Unlimited working rights within Australia
  • Ability to work alongside a diverse workforce
  • Vaccinated (or willing to be) against Q Fever. 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

You will bring with you:

  • 5+ years Previous experience in environment management, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Degree qualified in Environmental Management or a related field would be advantageous
  • Wastewater management experience
  • Good understanding of environmental licenses and development authority conditions
  • A working understanding of current environmental legislation
  • Previous compliance auditing experience
