Catchment Management Officer

APG Workforce are currently seeking EOI from experienced Catchment Management Officers to assist the Georges Riverkeeper team in implementing, managing and reporting on programs and strategies to improve the health of the Georges River catchment with an emphasis on waterway health through ongoing programs in river health, research and stormwater and sewage.

The Role: 

• 6 month temp role with possible extension 
• Location: Sutherland 
• Commencement July 2024
• $99,003.00 + Super 

Preferred experience:

• Experience in Environmental Science/Management, Ecology or related field or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Knowledge and experience in water resource and/or natural resource project management
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing written reports, community, and committee presentations, and/or conference presentations
• Ability to work in a position which has a high level of independence and minimal supervision
• Ability to implement and maintain waterway health and aquatic ecosystem monitoring, sampling and survey programs including reporting and field work
• Demonstrated ability to work with and communicate to a range of stakeholders and the community to develop partnerships and networks to support environmental management
• Experience in investigating enquiries regarding water related & natural resource management issues and being able to provide advice, solutions and/or recommendations.

Licenses/Qualifications 

• Current Class C drivers licence are essential
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Management, Ecology or a related field 
• Full Australian Work Rights
