Coliban Water have announced the commencement of major sewer pump station upgrades to “increase capacity and improve reliability of sewer operations” in the Echuca area.

The $683,000 project will involve the construction of a larger 2.2 metre diameter concrete pump station that will be located within the existing site.

General Manager Planning and Infrastructure Dr Dharma Dharmabalan said the project was part of Coliban Water’s strategy for growth and improved sewer services for the area.

“There are 29 sewer pump stations servicing the Echuca township and this pump station is a key piece of infrastructure within the sewer network.

“As the town continues to grow, we are planning our projects to accommodate future growth and improve the reliability of the existing sewer network,” Dr Dharmabalan said.

Ace Water Services Pty Ltd have been awarded the contract, with the project to be completed by mid July this year.
