Goulburn-Murray Water has announced it has started Phase 2 of its business transformation process, which will focus on optimising staffing levels in internal support services.

Managing Director Gavin Hanlon said that the transformation process is about rebalancing skills across the organisation to make the organisation as efficient as possible.

"It is essential that our business works towards keeping our charges as low as possible.

"Phase 1 saw 60 positions removed from the business with Phase 2 focused on ensuring that the internal support services are appropriately structured to meet the future needs of the business.

"Our business transformation goal is to reduce those functions, services and activities that do not add value to our customers or are not required to allow us to meet our regulatory or governance responsibilities.

"We are on track to complete the current business transformation process by the end of the financial year.

"However, identifying efficiencies, streamlining processes and reducing waste within the business will remain our focus now and into the future."
