Long serving Chief of the Australian Water Association (AWA), Tom Mollenkopf, has announced he will be stepping down from the position in July this year.

AWA National President, Lucia Cade, paid tribute to the industry veteran, thanking him for his long years of service.

“Tom has overseen a period of considerable growth and change in AWA, at a very exciting time for the water industry. He has worked tirelessly in forging new relationships for the Association both locally and internationally, represented the water industry well, has increased member services, and grown membership,” Ms Cade said.

“The Board as a whole would like to thank Tom for hisin valuable service and extend its best wishes as he resumes full time residence in Melbourne. It has been a pleasure working with him over the last six years.”

Speaking to staff, Mr Mollenkopf said he had found the role as CEO to be one the most rewarding and challenging roles he has ever served in.

“I have immensely enjoyed my time at AWA, including the support and friendship of a very talented group of professionals and a fine Board of Directors,” Mr Mollenkopf said.

The AWA Board will now commence a national search for a new CEO.
