East Gippsland Water has announced the appointment of Bruce Hammond as the company’s new Managing Director, returning to the organisation he worked for over fifteen years ago.

“The Board is delighted to be able to appoint Bruce to the position of EGW Managing Director. Bruce worked with East Gippsland Water from 1992 to 1997. Bruce has almost 30 years engineering and management experience in the water industry, and is currently General Manager Technical Services at Goulburn Valley Water,” East Gippsland Water’s Chairman Gail Morley said.

Mr Hammond has extensive experience in the Victorian water sector, having worked at Tambo Water Board, Melbourne water, Morning Peninsula and District Water Board and the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission.

Mr Hammond’s appointment comes after long serving and highly respecting Managing Director Les Mathieson retires.

Mr Hammond said he was delighted to be returning to East Gippsland Water and said he was committed to ensuring East Gippsland Water’s strong focus on customer service excellence continues.

“East Gippsland Water is well regarded in the water industry and in the local community and I am looking forward to leading the team as they continue the great work already undertaken by the organisation,” Mr Hammond said.

Mr Hammond will commence his role in early December.
