South Australia, Victoria and Queensland are all looking to get some plumbing work done, with tenders released for the construction and maintenance of wastewater systems in various states.

Consultancy firm Watsons has issued a tender for the construction of PVC sewer mains and associated works in Cranbourne West, Victoria.

Applicants must carry appropriate South East Water approvals or be suitably qualified and willing to achieve accreditation. Applicants will be required to enter into a contract with South East Water and be ready to commence works in early August.

Also in Victoria a tender is available for the installation of new sewer infrastructure on the Southern Mornington Peninsula. Works will involve the horizontal directional-drilling for 230km of high-pressure sewer pipes. The request for tender was set to expire on July 24; it has now been extended into August. The South Australian Water Corporation has issued a tender for its wastewater mains rehabilitation program. The contract would cover several suburbs and quite extensive works. Submissions will close on July 23, information is available from SA Water Corp.

Queensland too is seeking upgrades to its southern-end sewerage facilities. The Western Downs Regional Council has released a tender for sewerage network upgrades in the South West and Darling Downs regions. Upgrades will include the design and construction of an evaporation pond, pump stations and associated mains plumbing, some tunnelling and other works too.
