Sydney Water has awarded a five-year operations and facilities maintenance, with a potential two-year option, to Theiss, starting 1 July this year.

Sydney Water Managing Director Kevin Young said Thiess will provide mechanical and electrical services for Sydney Water’s water and wastewater treatment plants and networks, and facilities management for more than 2,000 sites and buildings across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra.

“The contract is one of the largest of its kind in Australia’s water industry and part of our ongoing strategy to drive greater efficiencies for our customers,” Mr Young said.

“This partnership will contribute to a more competitive and productive Sydney Water which will help keep customer bills as low as possible, while maintaining a high level of service.
