WaterNSW has confirmed a new board appointment.

WaterNSW has confirmed the appointment of Patricia Forsythe to its Board of Directors, set to commence as director in November for a three-year term through to 2025, replacing outgoing director, Emma Stein.

In welcoming the appointment, WaterNSW Chair Peter Duncan said the significant experience and expertise of Ms Forsythe will be welcomed by the organisation.

“Patricia has a rich career and brings to WaterNSW many decades of governance and business experience and most recently served as Australia’s High Commissioner to New Zealand,” he said.

“The leadership and oversight of the Board is a critical component of our performance in a water sector where we are increasingly challenged by the extremes of drought and flood, and where we work hard to meet the highest expectations of our customers and the community at large.”

Ms Forsythe has experience across a number of Government and not-for-profit sector boards as well as a former Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber and a former member of the NSW Legislative Council.

“On behalf of WaterNSW, I welcome Ms Forsythe, and look forward to working with her and our fellow Board and the Executive as we continue to transform WaterNSW to best meet the needs of our customers and the community,” Mr Duncan said.

Mr Duncan also acknowledged the contribution of outgoing director Ms Emma Stein.

“I thank Ms Stein on behalf of WaterNSW for her strong contribution to our Board over the past six years, a period in which we have experienced severe drought and record floods, and we thank her for her leadership.”
