Shannon Creek Dam’s site officer, Allen Paul, has been recognised as the 2011 NSW Operator of the Year by the Water Industry Operators Association.

The dam is run by the Coffs Harbour City and Clarence Valley councils.

Clarence Valley Mayor, Cr Richie Williamson, says the award recognises the excellent work Allen has been undertaking during the commissioning phase of Shannon Creek Dam.

“Council receives excellent feedback from the public about how tidy and well maintained the Shannon Creek Dam site is,” Cr Williamson said.

The Operator of the Year Award is open to operators from all NSW local water utilities and is sponsored by the NSW Water Directorate, an association of NSW local government water utilities.

The award is presented to operators of water or waste-water treatment facilities to recognise excellent performance, initiative and all-round attention to detail.
