Site Engineer – Construction and Rehabilitation of Water and Wastewater Networks

  • 10 year full cycle program – covering Design, Construction, and Maintenance of water and wastewater assets
  • Major Sydney Water infrastructure projects in the western suburbs
  • Sydney Olympic Park and Prospect Construction Offices. Sites within the West Region.

The Opportunity

The West Region Delivery Team are working on critical infrastructure to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facility management services for the next ten (10) years across wastewater and recycled water systems extending from Sydney’s Inner West suburbs out to the Blue Mountains including the Western Sydney Growth Area and part of the North West Growth Centre.

Due to new projects and an increased forward work book, we are seeking a Site Engineer to be part of the West Region Delivery Team constructing and rehabilitating Sydney Water’s water and wastewater networks.

Reporting to the Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the complete life cycle of projects from developing initial project estimates through to construction delivery, whilst building on our strong relationships with our client.

You will be responsible for.

  • Working with the project engineer, site teams, self-perform employees and subcontractors to complete complex civil and pipeline projects in line with our established processes and high standards.
  • Working side by side with the project supervisor to support the onsite work team to achieve planned activities.
  • Construction safety and environment monitoring and compliance with the support of our inhouse safety and environment teams.
  • Customer interaction (home and business owner) management with the support of our inhouse customer communication teams.
  • Preparing, monitoring, and updating production plans and working to weekly and monthly programmes.
  • Management of day to day site needs and weekly look ahead.
  • Effective daily Cost tracking of site works.
  • Manage construction quality inspections and records together with the support of our inhouse quality teams.

What you will need

  • Degree level qualification in Engineering, Project or Construction management
  • Preferably hands on experience in water utilities sectors with exposure to water and wastewater pipe networks, and associated mechanical and civil infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Safety, project financial management, forecasting, procurement, design and contracts management functions.

  • Experience with quality control and construction completion.
