Marine Engineering Manager

An exciting brand-new opportunity exists for an enthusiastic leader with strong project management experience to join the engineering team at Port Huon in the role of Marine Engineering Manager.

The role

Reporting to the Projects and Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of fleet builds, repairs, and maintenance across Huon. Your commitment to safety and continuous improvement will be essential to succeeding in this role.

You will:

• Demonstrate strong leadership with strategic oversight across maintenance teams.
• Manage capital builds with a keen eye for engineering and financial acumen, overseeing budgeting and project expenditure.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, working collaboratively to develop and execute major projects aligned with the Marine Operations strategy.
• Communicate clearly and confidently with leaders and stakeholders, providing regular updates on strategic initiatives and projects.

About you

• You bring extensive experience in managing large-scale engineering projects, ideally on vessels, and/or relevant qualifications in Project Management.
• You have a proven track record of effectively managing and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Your strategic thinking enables you to make timely, accurate decisions.
• You are an excellent communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with stakeholders.
• You influence, coach, and manage people effectively, allowing your people the best opportunity to meet business requirements, and embrace change as an opportunity to enhance the employee experience.
