Hydrogeologist (Groundwater Modeller)/ Senior Hydrogeologist (Groundwater Modeller)


The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation Perth CBD Office, including the location of this position, is planned to relocate to Joondalup from late 2018 / early 2019.

The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist (Groundwater Modeller) or Hydrogeologist (Groundwater Modeller) to join our vibrant team. We are offering a full-time temporary opportunity up until 30 June 2021 located in Perth but will eventually move to our new Joondalup office. The position would suit a proactive, organised and self-motivated individual.

Specified Calling Level 2

The primary function of the SCL2 Hydrogeologist (Groundwater Modeller) is to investigate and assesses the quality, quantity, reliability and sustainability of all aspects of groundwater resources to support groundwater management.

Specified Calling Level 3

The SCL3 Hydrogeologist (Groundwater Modeller) has a combined leadership and professional role. The position undertakes complex and specialised tasks in the area of hydrogeological groundwater modelling and mentors and leads the work of other less experienced or knowledgeable staff. Additionally, the role contributes to strategic planning processes for the Water Resource Assessment branch.


The initial term of appointment for this position is until 30 June 2021. Extensions to this term may be possible, dependent on funding availability and resourcing requirements.
